ECT performed an Analysis of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Non-ballistic Applications and Markets. Our initial approach involved developing and evaluating quantitative information to determine the size of each non-ballistic application market on a global basis. This activity was performed in parallel with the development of competitive information aimed at defining and characterizing market segments comprising applications with similar competitive sets, and estimating other market and economic variables (e.g. market shares, cost positions, comparisons of suppliers’ offerings, etc.). Finally we also developed strategic and tactical information, including ranking the market opportunities, performing a more detailed analysis of the top-ranked opportunities, performing assessments of the likelihood of our client’s success, and providing recommendations of short-to-medium term actions. Markets analyzed included: UD Composites (air cargo containers, radomes) Tape Wound or Laid Composites (reinforced piping, cryogenic hose, flexible pressure hoses) Industrial Fabrics & Fibers (airfreight curtains, abrasion & abuse resistant sleeves & curtains, sail cloth) Marine & Offshore (Marine rope & cordage; fish nets for aquaculture, trawl nets) Industrial Rope & Cordage (heavy lift slings, utility line stringing, collation nets/cargo nets, safety nets, cordage, cables)
